Meet The Team

Paul Turner

Overview: As well as the general day-to-day duties of running the business I am responsible for the overall performance of the company.

You’ll see mebregularly get ‘on the tools’ and shimmy up the ladder and help with installations which I enjoy as I am not really a desk person.

I liaise with all our customers and suppliers and am constantly sourcing new processes and materials to keep the company ahead of the game

When did you start with the company: July 2011

What do you enjoy about the work you do: The variety and challenges. No job is the same and you have to approach each project with an open mind and at times, think laterally.

Work History: I have been in graphics industry for about 38 years, starting as a photographic laboratory technician printing and processing film. I graduated working through the ranks learning how to (and how not to)undertake various tasks. Before I set up Paul Turner Displays and Triga I worked for and with a number of companies in the large format digital arena. I never intended setting up in business but when I did I immediately regretted not doing it sooner.

Hobbies & Interests: Hobbies….hmmm, as many business owners will know they are not top of your priority list when trying to get a company going. My daughter (28) now lives away and is a primary school teacher and my son (20)has Autism and severe learning difficulties.

I enjoy spending time with my son and observing his ‘unique’ approach to life, its a great leveller sometimes. I do enjoy golf and used to be a member of a few clubs but until retirement beckons I will stick to the local municipal courses

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to: Best small concert was Squeeze at Lancaster University. Seen The Who, Diana Ross, Genesis a number of times but I have to say ELO in Manchester a few years back was a bucket list achievement I will never forget. The Lion King at the Lyceum in London was an astonishing show as well.

What do you think you’re good at: Listening, adapting and delivering what I promise.

Tea of Coffee: Tea, no question (as a Lancastrian it pains me to admit that Yorkshire Tea is my favourite, white, no sugar thanks)

Anthony Wardle

Overview: I am responsible for various areas within the business, ranging from customer service, sales, accounts, installations; generally helping to run the business throughout.

The variety of the job is what I enjoy and if I don’t know how to do something, I’d rather tell you that, go away and find a way to do it, and come back with a solution or workaround.

When did you start with the company: December 2020

What do you enjoy about the work you do: The variety and creativity needed. I am seeing lots of people with a wide variety of requirements, and being able to understand their needs and translate this into a product or system they can use and re-use makes it worthwhile.

Work History: I spent 18 years in the call centre industry, particularly the call handling outsourcing model. Starting on the front line (I was one of those people you shouted over the phone at when you were angry), I quickly made my way up through the ranks to call centre management and dealt with all aspects. Anything from sales, IT, customer service, accounts, you name it I got involved.

Hobbies & Interests: As a family man a lot of my spare time is spent around my 2 kids, but when I do get my time I enjoy photography, gaming and cycling (although the intensity of my cycling isn’t what is used to be). I enjoy problem solving and learning new things, my bookmark folder of things to learn is constantly growing and I will get round to most of it one day.
Recently I am trying to get back into sketching and art, in my younger years this was something I really enjoyed…..this is ongoing, still.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to: I’ve never been to a live concert in my life. It’s not that I have anything against them, I’ve just never had a desire to go to one, although I’m sure I’ll end up at one eventually.

What do you think you’re good at: Solving problems, or learning to understand the problem.

Tea of Coffee: Both, but I am partial to a nice latte
